This fonds contains congregational bulletins (1958-1998, 2012-2018), congregational directories (1947-1995); congregational newsletters - Gruess Gott (1940-1974), The Intercom (1976-2003), FMC's Newsletter (2004-2007), The Community Well (2007-2011); young people's newsletter, Das Blatt, (1951-1963), congregational annual reports (1930-1998), congregational meeting minutes (1930-1979), family, membership, baptismal, and marriage register (1929-1975), church council meeting minutes (1929-1978), minister's meeting minutes (1938-1964), congregational constitutions ([193?]-1978), several youth society programmes from the 1950s, choir members list (1975), a 1947 preaching schedule, correspondence with the Conference of Mennonites in Canada, governments, Bible schools, etc., Frauenverein (ladies society) minutes (1963-1980), and other miscellaneous papers. The records pertain to the beginning and development of a Mennonite congregation in the city of Winnipeg and they document who the leaders, members, and participants were.

This fonds consists of seventeen diaries written by Rev. Peter Buhler.

The materials in this fonds consists of scattered church council, annual meeting, and ministerial minutes, bulletins, financial records and a few records from Eden Mental Health Care services in Winkler, Manitoba.

This fonds consist of the materials which Tony Enns acquired as a participant with the Friends of Plautdietsch scriptures. They include e-mail and in-person consultations about the orthography to use in the revision and translation of the scriptures for Low German Mennonites. There are also reports, sample translations, budgets, signed agreements and a few newspaper clippings.

This fonds consists of general ledgers, annual financial reports, income tax returns, customer account ledger sheets, inventories, minute books, employee time books, debt claims, mortgages, employee records and a administration manual. Detailed and daily financial records, bank deposits, cancelled checks, invoices, sales slips, egg delivery receipts, bills of lading, daily cash reports and brochures were largely disposed except or a few samples.

This collections consists mainly of the village books covering the period 1875-1936, with a few gaps. The records record financial affairs of the village such as the levies on village inhabitants. There are also a set of community announcements (1917-1918), contracts with village teachers and shepherds, property transactions and other miscellaneous papers(1881-1904).

This fonds consists of minutes, correspondence, site plans, and publicity about the project. These materials show interest among North American Mennonites and their familial roots in Ukraine.

Andrew Hamm (1875- ) was the original author attributed to this fonds. However, over the years it has become unclear who Andrew Hamm (Andreas Hamm) truly is and should all the diaries be attributed to the same individual. We know that the original card catalogue for the fonds identifies that the diaries record economic as well as personal matters, for the years 1881-1893, 1905-1916, 1963-1966. Additional information provided is the author was from the village of Neubergthal, Manitoba.

Andrew Hamm (1875-1944) is the son of Gerhard Hamm (1844-1905) and Anna Knelsen (1849-1916). Andrew was born in Rosenthal, Chortitza, South Russia, immigrated to Canada in 1892, was married in Eichenfeld, Manitoba, then moved to Rosthern, Saskatchewan where his children were born and he later died. However, this Andrew Hamm’s life and immigration dates do not match up with what is described in the diaries.

Another Hamm family in Neubergthal, Manitoba at the time was Andreas Hamm (1826-1892), his son Andreas Hamm (1863-1936), and his son Andreas Hamm (1898-1976). When doing research for this fonds, Alf Redekopp spoke with life-long resident of Neubergthal Ray Hamm. Ray remembers Andreas Hamm (1898-1976) and it is because of this connection that we have decided to attribute the diaries to Andreas Hamm (1863-1936).

There are three distinct time frames that the diaries cover: 1881-1893, 1905-1916, 1963-1966. The first section (1881-1893) is before any of the people we are considering to have created the diaries came to Canada. Yet, the content of the diary in this section discusses buying and selling material, travelling to Winnipeg, and comments on the weather. Meaning the author lived in Manitoba at the time. The last section is written after both Andrew’s we are considering to have written the diaries had passed away. Meaning the diaries from the 1960s must be written by a different author. The authorship of these materials remains unclear.

This fonds consists of a photocopy of a diary written by Bernhard Hamm which describes the journey to Canada, settling on the East Reserve and then moving to the West Reserve to the village of Neubergthal. A portion of the diary has been transcribed.
