Materials include journals, personal and professional correspondence, reports and articles associated with his work for International Voluntary Services (IVS) and Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT), lectures and speeches, photographs, and remembrance books compiled after his death. These papers also include Synapses: Messages, newsletters of a grass-roots human rights and spirituality organization based in Chicago in the 1980s and 1990s.

32 cassette tapes containing oral history interviews with 31 individuals or couples: Royal and Evelyn Bauer, Ruth Bauman, Esther Bigler and Leroy Hostetler, Albert and Lois Buckwalter, Joe and Nellie Buzzard, Frank and Anna Byler, John and Bonnie Driver, Minnie Graber, Erma Grove, Ralph and Elizabeth Hernley, Ezra and and Orpha Hershberger, Eunice Histand, Orvin Hooley, Jonathan Hostetler, Ann Kauffman, J. Howard Kauffman, Howard Kaufman, Carl Kreider, Lloyd R. Miller, Mildred Mullet, Glenn Mussleman, Evangeline Neuschwander, Florence Nofziger, Nancy Nussbaum, Clara Raber, Paul Schank, Tilman Smith, Silas J. Smucker, Nelson and Betty Springer, and Alice Yoder. One cassette holds an interview with four Mennonite women - Pauline Yoder Kaufman, Edith Reimer, Gladys Mast, and Hazel Hostetler - about bonnets and prayer coverings, dress codes, women preachers, and MennoHof. Transcripts are not available, but there are brief abstracts of each interview. All interviews were conducted by Floyd L. Rheinheimer.
Researchers should note that the interview with Eunice Histand was recorded on an 8mm video cassette.

Photocopy of a typed transcript of the German-language diary of an Old Order Amish man in Middlebury, Indiana. The author also went buy the name "Hansi Borntrager." Entries are generally one sentence long, and the the diary documents only the "most important and most unusual events."

These papers document the struggle of a Baptist military chaplain against the US Air Force to remain a military chaplain while speaking out against the morailty of the First Gulf War. Materials include Robertson's unpublished autobiography, US Air Force documents and exhibits submitted in an inquiry concerning his actions in 1993, letters from congressional representatives and supporters, transcriptions of interviews for a 1994 Dateline NBC television special and viewer reactions, and court documents. This collection also includes Garland's Ph.D. thesis.
Robertson was discharged from the US Air Force in 1993. He became a Mennonite pastor and served Austin Mennonite Church in Austin, Tex. and Christian Peacemaker Teams.

Yorifumi Yaguchi Correspondence and Manuscripts
A small set of personal papers created by a Japanese Mennonite poet. Yaguchi's correspondence consists of incoming letters from English language poets, including James Kirkup, Bill Costley, Sajed Kamal, Jonas Negalha, Robert Bly, Anne Sexton, Gary Snyder, William Stafford, and R. S. Thomas. Other materials include miscellaneous poetry manuscripts and an interview transcription with Yujin Yaguchi, Yaguchi's daughter.

Records of the Mennonite General Conference officer charged with managing the monies of the General Conference and its committees, including the Mennonite Commission for Christian Education, the Mennonite Historical Committee, the General Council, the Executive Committee, and the Peace Problems Committee. Materials include financial journals, treasurer's correspondence, and minutes of the budget and finance committee. Researchers should note that the treasurer's correspondence includes copies of correspondence from the moderator and other executive committee members that was not otherwise retained.
In 1964, the executive secretary's office began managing the money of the General Conference and its committees, and In 1967, Mennonite Mutual Aid (Everence) took over bookkeeping for the General Conference.

Handwritten music by Albert D. Schmutz (this may not belong here but possibly just got stuck in when the papers were cleaned out of the Music Library in the Fine Arts Center in 1993). The 45rpm phonograph record in box 1 may also not belong to Dunkelberger but just come from the Music Library.

The results of this study were published in the Gospel Herald on May 26, 1953.
