This photo is of (l-r) Frank Brown, Herb Van Bergen, William Schroeder, and Arnie Neufeld standing at Dead Horse Creek, the site of the first MB baptism in Canada (30 May 1886). The photo was taken to mark 100 years since this first baptism.

Baptism class of June 5,1949, 10 women and 1 man. The photo is taken on the steps of Young United Church in Winnipeg, with Aelt. Thiessen from Saskatoon and Rev. J. Toews. Seven of these young women had been part of the Mädchenheim. These were 1st row: Frieda Ediger, Lilie Kliever, Nellie Penner. 2nd row: Else Janzen, Katie Rempel, Liese Epp, and Marichen Ediger. The others were Lena Martens Marichen Martens, Neta Isaak and Mr. Berg.

The ministers are seated in front of the pulpit. Standing behind them are 5 women and 2 men. The women are Agnes Dahl, Mrs. Penn. Elizabeth Penner, Kätie Schulz, and Elizabeth Klassen. The women are wearing black dresses and the men suits with white shirts and tie.

This is a photo of candidates for baptism. Schoensee congregation, Molotschna, 1930. Aeltester Alexander Ediger and wife born a Kathie Dyck are seated in the middle in the front. Ediger, born 1893, graduated from the Leningrad University, married married Kathie in 1919, was ordained as Aeltester in 1925. Devout Christian, remarkably able, outstanding musician, good public speaker, Chairman of Kommission fuer Kirchenangelegenheiten, and editor of "Unser Blatt". He was banished to Murmansk region in 1933; later on sent to eastern Siberia with wife. Kathie was sent back in 1938 and Alexander was not heard from again. Kathie escaped Russia and settled in Ontario; her surviving two children remained in Russia. [HR 81]
