Engraved in German: "Our well-respected teacher and shepherd. Dedicated by thankful friends." Born Feb. 14, 1836 Died Aug. 19, 1914 The funeral was Aug. 20, 1914, near Denhoff, ND and the buriel was Aug. 23, 1914 next to his wife, who died Feb. 14, 1912.
