Personal and family papers of an (old) Mennonite Church pastor and bishop who served a congregation in Sweet Home, Oregon and was active in the Pacific Coast Mennonite Conference and national church.

These papers are divided into series:

(3) Photographs, 1900-1957, undated

Personal and pastoral papers of a pastor and bishop in the (old) Mennonite Church in Ohio.  Materials include sermons, correspondence, materials on the Canton Mennonite Mission and the Ohio and Eastern Mennonite Conference, and assorted clippings, certificates, and ephemera.

The richest materials in the collection are Tillie Yoder Nauraine's writings, including poetry, essays, articles, diaries, and an autobiography.  In them, she documents her personal experiences, domestic life, professional interests, travels, relationships with family members, and her religious beliefs.  She writes openly about her abuse as a child and her difficult marriage. 

Also of particular note is a scrapbook of photographs of her family and her work at Camp Ebenezer and the Peurto Rican home for boys.

Other material in the collection includes incoming personal correspondence, information about her doll shop and patterns,  and photos of her hand-made dolls.

The professional, pastoral, and personal papers of Nelson E. Kauffman, a long-time Mennonite church missionary and administrator, are divided into five series:

(3) Prison Ministry, 1940-1968

(4) Photographs and Scrapbooks, 1937-1967

(5) Christmas Carol Kauffman, 1951-1976

The collection includes a miscellaneous assortment of funeral announcements, Sunday School materials, a musical score and a photograph collected for scrapbooks by Perry T. Yoder who was a resident of the Rittman Old People's Home in Rittman, Ohio.

Collection consists primarily of photographs documenting Oregonian Mennonite Harry Artemus Mishler's time as a Civilian Public Service (CPS) Smoke Jumper from 1943 to 1945. Photographs sublects include: the Smoke Jumpers, training, airplanes, the parachuting process, home life at Camp Paxson (Missoula, MT) and the regional outposts of Big Prairie and Camp Menard. Parachute instuction manuals, a master loft log (recording Mishler's jumps), and publications concerning the Smoke Jumpers are also included.

Further contents include documents and pictures from Smoke Jumper reunions held in 1973 and 1978.

Papers of a Goshen Academy alumna (1922), long-time member of the Prairie Street Mennonite Church (Elkhart, Ind.), and missionary to Dhamtari, India later in life.  Contains a remarkable run of diaries, nearly unbroken, from 1910 to 1989, in which Smucker provides brief descriptions of her daily activities.  Also includes scrapbooks, postcard albums, her father's autograph book, and miscellaneous materials.

A small set of personal papers created by a secretary employed by the Mennonite Board of Missions from 1950 to 1978.  Materials include scattered correspondence and autobiographical essays, photographs of the Graber siblings, Graber family obituaries, information on Lloyd O. Rupe, and a scrapbook of photographs and correspondence presented to her by missionaries and mission board staff upon her retirement.

A hodgepodge of materials pertaining to the family of Jacob Christophel, a Mennonite immigrant to Elkhart County Indiana in 1818 and one of the founders of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.

The collection consists of some correspondence, a notebook of copied poems, a scrapbook of collected poems, and miscellaneous writing.

Personal papers created by Lydia Oyer, an early leader in Mennonite nursing education. The collection consists primarily of diaries Oyer kept throughout her years as a nurse practitioner, with very brief records on patients, personal activities, and the weather. The scrapbook contains photos, news clippings, and notes from friends, classmates, and teachers from her time at the Mennonite Hospital School of Nursing in La Junta, Colorado. Other writings include essays on religious topics and a poem.

Personal papers and genealogical research files created by a Goshen College alumnus and Civilian Public Service volunteer who served as a professor at Kent State University and the University of Michigan.  Materials include a scrapbook containing color photographs of Civilian Public Service Camp #141, Gulfport, Mississippi (Camp Barnard),  photographs and information about Goshen College's Class of 1938, scrapbooks on Andrei Sakharov and war and peace issues, and correspondence and photocopied primary sources pertaining to Hertzler's 1995 genealogy monograph, The Other Hertzler-Hartzlers.

The collection consists of the records of the PAX Reunion Committee and primary source documents contributed by former PAX workers.  The collection is divided into series by name of the creator or contributor of the materials.  When contributors are unknown, the series are named for the PAX program they document.

This collection documents the activities of members of the Civilian Public Service (CPS) Camp #58 in Farnhurst, Delaware from 1942 through 1946. Camp reunion files give insight into how the CPS experience affected the lives of those who served. Included are D. Paul Miller's personal scrapbook during his time of service, materials related to the camp's softball team (the Red Comb Arrows), The Crusaders Quartet, and later circle letters and reunion documents.

The collection primarily includes diaries and scrapbooks. The scrapbooks consist largely of photos, obituaries and various news clippings. Her diaries include comments about the weather, domestic chores and her husband's outings.
