Correspondence

Incoming and outgoing correspondence documenting the lives and work of Paul and Esther Kniss. Because this series contains both professional and personal correspondence, it also documents the lives of friends and other mission workers who wrote to the Knisses. For most years, incoming correspondence is more abundant than outgoing.

Early Records

This series consists primarily of early correspondence pertaining to Laurelville Mennonite Camp, which ultimately became the Laurelville Mennonite Church Center. Materials documenting the purchase of land for the camp and the earliest programs, publicity, mailing lists, financial reports may also be found in this series. Materials are arranged chronologically.

Subject Files

Materials collected by Yoder pertaining to churches he served, Civilian Public Service, and a number of Mennnonite organizations, including the Indiana - Michigan Mennonite Conference and Mennonite Board of Education.

Sermon Notes

Outlines and manuscripts of sermons, some noted with date and location preached. Includes one sound recording of D. A. Yoder's preaching.

Correspondence

The richest materials in this series are the letters exchanged between the Brunks during J. E. Brunk's voluntary service in the Near East following World War I. They document both the early relief work of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) and Alice Brunk's home life. Also included is Alice Brunk's correspondence with family during the Brunks' sojourn in Puerto Rico as MCC volunteers in the mid 1940s. Other materials found in this series are the Brunks' courtship letters and miscellaneous family correspondence among the Brunks and Yoders.
