Mennonite Church Indiana-Michigan Conference Church Life Commission Records

  • US MCUSAA II/05/013
  • Collection
  • 1967-2007

These records document the work of the committee that offered pastoral support to ministers serving the conference and handled congregational and ministerial difficulties and controversies.  The minutes of the committee will be helpful to researchers seeking specific issues within the congregations of the Indiana-Michigan Conference.  Once the researcher determines the time period in which the issue was handled by the committee, the researcher may then seek more information in the correspondence and data files from that time period.

Other materials of particular interest in the collection include summaries of interviews with retired ministers.  Some interviews are foldered separately from other materials, while other interviews are mixed into the meeting minutes or correspondence and subject files.  Also, among the correspondence and subject files researchers will find the meeting minutes of regional ministers' councils established in 1970.

Correspondence and subject files round out the series.  These include not only committee correspondence and notes about various situations in congregations, but also files from workshops and retreats facilitated.
