This photograph is probably a family group. Not all names are given. Two women seated on the bench have infants on their laps. The barefoot women on the far left is holding an infant wrapped in a shawl and wearing a baby bonnet. She might not be a family member. Two children are seated on the ground. Several of the boys are wearing typical belted Russian tunics or blouses. The names supplied are as follows left to right in the back row:- 1.Abram Janzen, 2.unknown, 3.Johann Janzen, 4.Gerhard Pries, 5.Anna Janzen, 6.Peter Janzen; seated row:- 1.unknown female with unknown infant, 2.Katharina Pries, 3.unknown girl, 4.unknown child, 5.Katharina Janzen with unknown child on her lap, 6. unknown child, 7.Margaretha Janzen; both girl and boy seated on the ground are not named. The group is in front of a brick building with a window on the left. The ground is also of laid bricks.

This photograph is of a group of young adults. It is damaged and three people cannot be identified. Four young women are wearing light coloured dresses and the men are in suits. In the photograph are:- standing toward the rear, Peter Janzen in a light coloured suit, seated in front of him is Anna Janzen, in front of her, resting on his elbow is Johann Janzen. To Anna Janzen's left is Abram Janzen, then Jacob Schultz, to his left is Aganetha Priess. Seated slightly below Aganetha Priess is Johann Janz with Margareta Janzen to his left

This is a photograph of four men and four women standing in front of a clapboard style house. The woman wearing the light skirt with dark jacket and hat is Anna Janz (Janzen). The other seven are not identified. The men are all wearing hats , all different. The first woman on the right has a blanket around her shoulders. The photograph was probably taken in the early years after arriving in Canada in 1924

This is a very small photograph of a family group on the steps at the entrance to a Soviet train car. There appears to be laundry hanging and drying on either side of the doorway. Heinrich B Janz is standing in the entrance holding an open book. His right arm is up with the index finger pointing as if to make an point. Below him in a light coloured dress is his second wife, Eva Janz (Willms). To her right is their daughter-in-law, Anna Janz (Janzen) with a white kerchief around her hair. The boys in dark clothing with caps are Anna's sons Gerhard (far left) later known as George and Johann, later known as John. The infant in front is unknown.

This photograph is of four women dressed for winter. They are wearing heavy three quarter length jackets with matching skirts, gloves, hats and stoles.. The three seated women are wearing fur hats that could be sable. The three on the left have long stoles over their shoulders. The woman standing has a matching Persian lamb hat and muff. The woman seated at the far right has a long necklace around her collar. The women are L to R Margaretha Janzen seated separately, unknown standing, Anna Janzen and Anna Priess seated on the bench.

This is a photograph of Anna Janz (Janzen) at her mother's grave in Halbstadt, dated 6-7-1924. (It could be July 6 or June 7.) She is dressed in a plain black dress featuring a pocket on her right. Her hair is covered with a white bonnet. This picture may have been taken shortly before emigrating to Canada.

This photograph appears to have been cut from a larger picture.

This is a photograph of a family group picking flowers along a road. Indications are that this is on the trek leaving Russia in 1924. The mother has a kerchief around her hair. The mother could be Anna Janz (Janzen) with two sons Gerhard Janz and Johann Janz. The boys are wearing shorts with stockings. The child in the light clothing as well as the person picking and holding a bunch of flowers are unknown.

This photograph is of Anna Janzen, on the left, and her sister Margaretha Janzen, on the right. They are wearing long winter coats with fur stoles almost the length of the coats and fur hats standing in front of a backdrop. The photograph is dated 17 November 1910 on the reverse.
