The byline in "The Canadian Mennonite" suggests the conference was held in Virgil, however the church in the background is St. Catharines United Mennonite. Participants are getting ready for a photo on the front steps of the church. At left a young girl twirls a hula hoop. The editor chose this photo instead of the posed one of the group (1998-14.295). Erland Waltner, president of Mennonite Biblical Seminary and guest speaker invites Rev. J. Wichert, Canadian board representative, to stand beside him. Some men visit, others begin to line up.
