Sunday School 1916

This photo is of the Sunday School students and teachers at the North End Chapel of the Mennonite Brethren Church. It was located at the corner of McKenzie St. and Manitoba Ave. in Winnipeg. Note: there is a negative with this photo.

This photo is of the ladies in the Willign Helpers Fellowship taken in the Chapel at College and McGregor St. The photo shows them sitting and standing at the table. This photo is of a group of adult men and women in the basement of the North End Mennonite Brethren Church basement who passed the 1921 Bible course given by Rev. William Bestvater.

North End Mennointe Brethren Chapel on College Avenue (Winnipeg)

This is a photograph of the North End Mennonite Brethren Chapel on College Ave. in Winnipeg. It shows a large stucco church structure with brick at the basement level. The entrance and one side of the church can be seen. Arched windows run along the entrance and one side of the building. Below the picture the German name of the church and the address of the church are noted. The names and addresses of C.N. Hiebert and H. G. Remple are printed on either side of the church name and address.

Interior of North End Chapel

This is a photo of the interior of the North End (M.B.) Chapel located at 621 College Ave. in Winnipeg's north end. The building was constructed in 1929 and was the congregation's home until 1954 when the building in Elmwood was constructed on Henderson Hwy. See Abe Dueck's article in the Mennonite Historian, March 2007.

This photo has been clipped out of a book or newspaper and is of the North End Chapel on Burrows and Andrews which was used from 1917-1930. It later became a meat market.

This photo is of summer students with CMBS director Abe J. Dueck (at left) posing for a photo in front of European Meats and Sausages on the corner of Burrows and Andrews in Winnipeg. This building used to house the North End Mennonite Brethren church, which later became the Elmwood MB Church, when the congregation relocated to 145 Henderson Hwy.

This photo is of the North End Chapel in Winnipeg at 531 Burrows Ave. It is on a street corner with a woman walking down the wooden side walk toward a church in background. The North End Chapel was one of the first Mennonite Brethren meeting places in the city of Winnipeg.
