Women missionaries found greater challenges and greater status in mission work than they would have in church vocations at home. Elizabeth Goertz founded the successful Yu Jen School of Nursing in Kai Chow in 1930. Aganetha Fast and Marie J. Pauline Miller Goering organized a Women's Missionary Society in the Taming Fu Church.
