Bishop Doerksen's house

This photo is of Sommerfeld Mennonite Church Bishop Abraham Doerksen's house in Mexico. On the right is a wood frame house under construction. One man is on the roof and another on the ground beside the house. A third man stands beside the house. A horse drawn carriage is in front of the house. To the left is a team of horses and wagon. In the wagon are some chairs. Behind the wagon is a tall structure for a [water well?]. Had. Santa Clara

This photo is of Hacienda = ranch Santa Clara, at Sommerfeld, Mexico. The photo taken shows a house and barn on the left with family members standing and posing for a photo. On the right is a well drilling steam engine with piles of wood used for fuel. A tall pole with a pulley stands next to the machine. In the background are tents and other farm yards. According to Peter Bergen's book "Sommerfeld Village", p. 60 this photo is of elder Abraham Doerksen's new home in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. Men in the photo include Franz Voth?, Abraham Doerksen, and Doerksen's son-in-law Peter Friesen.
