Church Council and Congregational Meeting Minutes

The material in this series consists of minutes and reports from church council and congregational meetings. Also included are the minutes of several temporary committee meetings which initiated the beginnings of Elmwood Bethel Mennonite Church.

Church founding and operation

This series consists of documents related to the purchase of the church property, its constitution and bylaws, its incorporation, and rental agreements regarding the church facilities. There are also materials pertaining to the dissolution of the Selkirk Christian Fellowship, monographs describing the church and its history, statistical reports prepared for the General Conference of Mennonites in Canada, and records of the agreements between the congregation and its pastor.

Church material

This series has material that is related to the different aspects of church life. Financial records, attendance books, and minutes of church meetings can all be found within this series. A number of sermons can also be located here. The church records come from various locations including Matheson Island, Manigotogan, Selkirk, and Winnipeg.
The papers relate to the Unrau's missionary work among Native people in Manitoba: Mennonite Pioneer Mission correspondence (1949, 1957-1972), Indian and Metis conferences (1960-1969), and various writings on resource development in northern Manitoba.

Church records

This series consists of church bulletins, conference meeting bulletins, a few reports, a license to marry people, a travel diary, a membership book and a list or worship services conducted. Also included is a transcript of an interview with C.G. Stoesz conducted by Norman Friesen in 1978.

Church Records and Statistics

This series consists of various records and statistics regarding church membership, baptism, transfers and attendance. Also included in this series are the church's guest books and marriage register.

Church registers

This series consists of 5 bound volumes which chronologically documents the people who became members of this congregation. The data includes places and dates of births, baptisms, marriages and death. Parents names of new members are often included. It also documents membership transfers.

Church schedules

This series consists of monthly calendars that describe upcoming church events. There are music schedules and lists of volunteers for cleaning the church building.

Church School Hour Records

This series includes correspondence and materials generated by the radio program produced by Elim Bible School. It includes financial statements for the programs as well as a ledger book. The series also contains scripts for two short skits.

Clippings and events

This series consists of materials that describe the Selkirk Christian Fellowship's social programs and special events. It includes newspaper clippings, event programs, invoices, correspondence, and brochures. Some of the files pertain to the Selkirk Restitution/Reconciliation Committee, the Selkirk Christian Fellowship Christmas programs, Rev. Jake Wiebe, the Selkirk Christian Fellowship's 20th and 25th anniversary celebrations, the Every Home Plan, a preparation course for marriage and Christian family living, the Selkirk Cooperative on Abuse Against Women, and Alcoholics Victorious. A sampling of artwork rendered by members of the congregation is also included.
