Personal papers created by Lydia Oyer, an early leader in Mennonite nursing education. The collection consists primarily of diaries Oyer kept throughout her years as a nurse practitioner, with very brief records on patients, personal activities, and the weather. The scrapbook contains photos, news clippings, and notes from friends, classmates, and teachers from her time at the Mennonite Hospital School of Nursing in La Junta, Colorado. Other writings include essays on religious topics and a poem.

Fred E. Swartzendruber Near East Relief Scrapbook 1920-1921

One scrapbook of photographs documenting Fred E. Swatzendruber's travel and work with Near East Relief from 1920 to 1921. Swartzendruber's assignment was at an orphanage in Beirut, Syria, sheltering children whose parents were killed in the Armenian genocide. Contains photographs documenting the travel by ship and locations around the region including trips to the Holy Land and other pilgrimage sites.

Papers of a Goshen Academy alumna (1922), long-time member of the Prairie Street Mennonite Church (Elkhart, Ind.), and missionary to Dhamtari, India later in life.  Contains a remarkable run of diaries, nearly unbroken, from 1910 to 1989, in which Smucker provides brief descriptions of her daily activities.  Also includes scrapbooks, postcard albums, her father's autograph book, and miscellaneous materials.

Tillie Yoder Nauraine Papers

The richest materials in the collection are Tillie Yoder Nauraine's writings, including poetry, essays, articles, diaries, and an autobiography.  In them, she documents her personal experiences, domestic life, professional interests, travels, relationships with family members, and her religious beliefs.  She writes openly about her abuse as a child and her difficult marriage. 

Also of particular note is a scrapbook of photographs of her family and her work at Camp Ebenezer and the Peurto Rican home for boys.

Other material in the collection includes incoming personal correspondence, information about her doll shop and patterns,  and photos of her hand-made dolls.

Two scrapbooks documenting the education and social life of a young Mennonite woman from Elkhart who attended Elkhart High School and the La Junta Mennonite School of Nursing in the 1920s. Contains photographs of fellow students and staff, newspaper clippings, graduation announcements and cards. The La Junta scrapbook also includes photographs after her graduation depicting travels and friends at home.

A small set of personal papers created by a secretary employed by the Mennonite Board of Missions from 1950 to 1978.  Materials include scattered correspondence and autobiographical essays, photographs of the Graber siblings, Graber family obituaries, information on Lloyd O. Rupe, and a scrapbook of photographs and correspondence presented to her by missionaries and mission board staff upon her retirement.

Mennonite Board of Missions Health and Welfare Committee Frontier Boys Village (Divide, Co.) Records

Administrative records of a camp facility established by the Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp Association and later administered by the Mennonite Board of Missions. Frontier Boys Village provided a long-term rehabilitation program for adolescent boys completing the requirements of Colorado's juvenile justice system. Records include board meeting minutes, correspondence, financial and development records, policy documents, publicity materials, scrapbooks, and photographs.
