John H. Neufeld fonds

This fonds consists of four series: 1) Lectures; 2) Sermons; 3) Theme Sermons (with five subseries on German and English Radio, Conversion, Decalogue, and Stewardship); 4) Study Notes on Biblical Books. These series contain both handwritten and typed notes, and some research using outside sources, for lectures and sermons that Neufeld gave over the course of his lifetime as a minister and professor, as well as for presentations he gave after his retirement. Also included are Neufeld’s reading notes from his own examination of many of the books of the Bible. The material is in both English and German.

The collection consists primarily of sermons given throughout her career serving in as Goshen College's campus pastor as well as at Guelph Mennonite Church (Guelph, Ont.), Hillcrest Mennonite Church (New Hamburg, Ont.), Stirling Ave Mennonite Church (Kitchener, Ont.), Warden Woods Mennonite Church (Scarborough, Ont.), Oak Grove Mennonite Church (Smithville, OH), and Lombard Mennonite Church (Lombard, IL). Recurring themes in the sermons emphasize church roles in accepting and supporting members who are single, divorced, widowed, and homosexual. Some notes and correspondence related to her work in organizing the Women in Ministry Conferences in 1982 and 2000 are also included.
