This series consists of letters from various family and friends, many of whom are writing from Russia. The letters 1971-1995 are written by Anna (Njuta) Martens (nee Reimer).

Elsie's personal files

The series consists of travel scrapbooks compiled by Elsie, her diaries (1929-1995) and correspondence. Some of Elsie’s material is present in other series of this fonds.

Gerhard Martens papers

This series consists of correspondence to and from the Gerhard J. (George) and Luise Martens family. Gerhard's mother-in-law, Elise Enns, and Henry and Erma Enns are frequent correspondents. Other letters include those from Germany.

The series consists of correspondence between Isaac and Elsie and other family and friends, reflective writings by Isaac, memorabilia such as Isaac's draft card and his yearbook, and Isaac's diaries (1919-1974).

This series consists of correspondence to and from Elise Enns from her family and friends in Canada, Brazil, Russia, and Germany. Also included is correspondence relating to her sponsorship of her brother Kornelius Toews to come to Canada.

Papers of David M. Stoesz

This series includes sermons written and preached by David M. Stoesz (1870-1934), wedding and funeral invitations, correspondence from Manitoba, Mexico, Texas, Minnesota, Brazil, and lists of baptisms performed and church meeting places.

Priess family correspondence

The letters are mostly concerned with the day-to-day activities of the writers, as well as events that might hold personal significance for them or for Peter; they mention everything from daily work and birthdays or funerals, to mass travel to Moscow for passports and the arrests of male family members by Russian authorities. Also included are a number of postcards that were sent to Peter in the 1930s, and a songbook belonging to Anna Janzen (1889-1977), Peter’s maternal aunt. The main letter writers include Brother Gerhard Priess (1898-1935), sister Katharina Priess (1903-1981) who moved to Nowo-Sibirsk, sister Maria Glasner (1911-1987) who moved to Nowo-Sibirsk, and cousin Käthe Dyck (1910-) who moved to Nowo-Sibirsk.

Files include records of MCC work from 1920 to 1935. Sub-series include Levi Mumaw's correspondence (Executive Secretary 1920-1935), immigration files of the first 62 refugees assisted by MCC, records of the material aid and efforts to assist refugees in Constantinople (present Istanbul, Turkey).

Maxwell H. Kratz was one of three men elected to the first Mennonite Central Committee on 27 September 1920. He was active in the leadership of MCC during its first projects of Russian relief, the purchase of land in Paraguay, and its incorporation. IX-02 includes Maxwell H. Kratz's MCC correspondence 1921-1934 related to 62 Russian refugees immigrating to the U.S. from Constantinople (present Istanbul, Turkey) and refugee immigration to Paraguay.

Bishop David Stoesz papers

This series contains a dairy by David Stoesz (1842-1903), correspondence several sermons, a wedding invitation from the Bergthal Colony, an early school organization record, handwritten book of hymn melodies, and a few books. Of special interest is a book bought by David Stoesz in 1861, published in 1834, originally written by Menno Simons and published in 1575.
