Earliest Church buildings: 1929 - 1941, North Kildonan M.B. Church, Winnipeg

This is an arrangement of 6 photographs chronicling the development of the original North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church building from 1929 to 1941. The photographs begin with the picture of a small house size building in 1929. The 1932 photo shows that an entrance area has been added. The small building is surrounded by what appears to be late winter snow. A lone figure approaches the stairs. The 1934 photograph shows men working outside the church to which a small addition has been added. The roofing appears inconsistent or incomplete. The 1937 photograph shows the same building with completed roofing and 2 outhouses at the back of the building. One of the two 1941 photographs shows the church's exterior and the other shows the interior. The church now has a steeple at the front of the building. The interior has a relatively high ceiling and a stage with a pulpit and chairs for the choir. Long, simple light fixtures hang form the ceiling.
