Roy Kiser and Paul Myers at Relief Sale, 1967

This photo is of Roy Kiser (right?), treasurer of the Virginia Mennonite Board of Missions, presenting a cheque for $6393.96 to Paul Myers (left?), MCC's assistant treasurer. The description on the back says that this represented the culmination of the first relief sale held in Augusta County, Virginia on September 30, 1967.

This photo is of five men visiting the grave of Jakob Zhidkov in Russia. The grave has a tall headstone and is surrounded by a white fence. The description on the back says, "l. to r. Michael Zhidkov, Victor Krieger, Frank C. Peters, Ilya Orlov, and Adolfs Klaupiks. At the grave of his parents, Michael Zhidkov and his friends pause for a moment to reflect on the leadership which his father, Jakob Zhidkov, had given the Baptist Church in Russia for many years. When he died in 1966, William Snyder, Adolfs Klaupiks, Frank Peters, and David Neufeld attended his funeral".

This photo is of six men and was taken at the MCC Annual Meeting in Leamington, Ontario, in 1973. The description on the back says, "A moving part of the program at the MCC Annual Meeting, Leamington, Ontario, 19-20 Jan. 73, was recognition of four Canadians, their combined ages totaling 320 years, who have been especially active in inter-Mennonite affairs. Recognized were (left to right) J. B. Martin, E. J. Swalm, C. A. DeFehr, and J. J. Thiessen. Each has served as a member of MCC. Behind them are William T. Snyder, executive secretary of MCC, and Daniel Zehr, executive secretary of MCC (Canada)."

Erma Friesen, R.N., and Linda Loewen, R.N. - Haiti

This photo is of Erma Friesen, a nurse in Haiti, inserting an IV into a scalp vein of a very young child. The child is lying on a table and is being held down by nurse Linda Loewen. The description on the back says, "Erma Friesen, Winnipeg, Man., a Mennonite Central Committee volunteer at Hospital Albert Schweitzer, Haiti, one of three night duty nurses at the hospital is in charge of the medical ward and the overnight ward. Most of her patients are small children with severe cases of gastroenteritis and must be fed intravenously. If the children are extremely dehydrated, scalp veins are used for injecting the IVs. In this photo, Erma (left), assisted by Linda Loewen, is attempting to insert the I.V.in the vein of the child's head. MCC presently has eight volunteers in the Hospital Albert Schweitzer area and 17 volunteers serving in Haiti."

Hotel Moscow in Moscow

This photo is of the Hotel Moscow in Moscow. In front of the hotel is large empty square. There are fancy street lights on the square. The hotel is more than ten storeys tall.The centre section of the hotel is taller and larger than the wings on either side. A number of buses can be seen in front of the hotel, as well as on the streets beside it. On either side of the hotel are lower buildings.
