Aeltester David Doerksen

This photo is of Bishop David Doerksen (1870-1951) who was the leading Bergthaler minister in Saskatchewan. He was elected to the ministry in 1907 and elected bishop in 1911. He was ordained by his brother, Bishop Abraham Doerksen of the Manitoba Sommerfeld Church. David Doerksen is sitting on a chair outside in front of a hedge.

This photo is a silhouette of the remains of the Alexanderkrone windmill. The dark hulk with a portion of the sail and tail remaining hang from the top cap structure against a background of blue sky and white clouds.

This photo is of the Alexanderkrone, Molotschna windmill. The exterior structure is made of red brick in a circular shape. The photo shows a doorway and two windows above it. The top part of the mill consisting of the cap and sails are destroyed. The mill operated until 1952.

This photo is of Bishop Jacob Froese of the reorganized Old Colony church in Manitoba. He is standing beside a table that has books and papers on it. In his hand he holds a pair of glasses. Jacob J. Froese (1888-1968) was elected in 1936 and elected bishop in 1937. He served until his death in 1968.

Burwalde windmill

This photo is of the windmill at Burwalde Manitoba framed with an oval and is the same image as the one previous, 639:62 but some of the context of the photo have been hidden due to the frame. The mill in this photo is not operational. The sails have been removed. The door stands open with a bicycle leaning against the building. Houses can be seen in the background on the left.
