Jacob Toews family

Jacob Toews b. 16 Oct 1844 and his wife Gertrude (nee Hiebert) b. 18 Jun 1844 are sitting down. Gertrude is holding the young child William, Anna (Mrs.Jacob Giesbrecht is standing between her parents and daughter Susan (Mrs. John Wiebe) is sitting on her father's lap. Mrs. Toews is wearing a dark dress and a lacy cap (Haube) . Mr. Toews a dark buttoned-up vest and jacket.

Portrait of Johann Epp, Chortitza, known as "Schreiber Epp" He is wearing a 3 piece suit, a ribbon tie, glasses. He has a beard and mustache.Joann was the son of David Epp, 1781-1843 and grandson of David Epp, 1750-1802 Johann was married to Helena Siemens 1834-1913

Mr. & Mrs. David Thiessen

David Thiessen b. 25 Jul 1854, d. 1934 is seated on the right, wearing a 3 piece wool suit with white buttons on his vest, white shirt and bow tie. His wife Anna nee Heidebrecht b. ? d. 1893 is sitting on the right, wearing a dark skirt with a pleated bottom edge, a dark jacket buttomed up and a white scarf around her neck. There is a small table between them with a white lace cloth and a plant and both David and Anna are resting one arm on the table.

Gerhard P. Dyck 1809

Portrait of Gerhard P. Dyck (1809-1887). This is a copy, not quite clear. Gerhard was married 3 times -- 1st wife Maria Dyck, 1812-1869, 2nd wife Justina Martens 1822-1875, 3rd wife Maria Pries nee Janzen 1830-1907 The children were Johann, Anganetha, Gerhard, Peter, Helena, Maria, Isaak, Isaak, Agatha, Katharina, Susanna, Abraham. Gerhard was elected as a minister in 1848 and Elder 1855-1885 in Russia. His son Isaak was also elected as Elder later. Gerhard's parents were Peter Dyck 1760-1824 and Aganetha Dyck 1768-1847. Gerhard had 2 sisters, Agatha and Helena. This is Generation 1 & 2 of the Peter Dyck 1760 Ancestry display.

John S. Rempel

Portrait of John S, Rempel 1853-1929. He was the banker at Chortitz and Sec. Treas. Of the Hanover Municipality. (see #46 Centennial list) John is wearing a checked jacket and a shirt buttoned to the top.

A young couple, Mr. and Mrs. Johann Wiens of Halbstadt Molotschna are shown. They are parents of Waldemar (Wolodja) and Maria (Manja) Wiens. Johann is wearing a dark jacket with the top button buttoned., white shirt and dark tie. His hair is parted in the middle and he has a small mustache. Mrs. Wiens is wearing a medium coloured 2 piece dress with buttons down the front and lace trim.

This photograph shows an elevator in the state of Minnesota, U.S.A, possibly in Butterfield area. Several horse-drawn wagons are lined up to unload their grain. The elevator is identified with W.P. Rempel & Bro. and belongs to sons of Peter Rempel, Wilhelm and Bernhard. There is a negative #223 in Binder for this photograph.
