Caption in album reads: "Straw bosses: Stan 'Pop' Johnston, Milton 'Oink' Noake, Ben 'Bulldoser' Bergen." A.J. Klassen's <i>Alternative Service for Peace</i> lists a Stanley Johnson (Montreal River, Ontario), Milton Noake (Stevensville, Ontario) and Ben Bergen (Reesor, Ontario) as conscientious objectors. "Straw bosses" were Alternative Service workers with additional responsibilities.
