Mennonite couple (?) with a Russian cook

This photo shows two women and a man in Russia, likely taken at a Soviet labour camp. It is another photo from Peter Albright's aunt Elizabeth Janzen's album. The back of this photo includes the following note in German: "Here we stand with the Russian head cook of the kitchen. From her we get all that we want. She is wearing my coat, since she arrived here with none. I had two winter coats; now I've sold one. It looks like Johan is ready to go running. The photo did not turn out well. The day was too overcast."

Six men in front of a Soviet barricks.

This photo shows six men with a wooden structure in the background. The note on the reverse in German reads: "These are all Mennonites, only J.'s two sons are missing from the photo -- Heinrich was taking the photo and the other one was at work. The one that is laughing is from __. I always say they are standing there like delegates. This is how our barracks look, _____, covering in snow. Johann, you will recognize."
