5 Recipients of the Golden Jubilee Medal

Olly Penner was one of five recipients of the Queen's Golden Jubilee Award in the Altona area. This award was put in place to commemorate Queen Elizabeth's 50th year as the Queen of England. The award recognizes individuals who have made a large impact on their own communities in Canada.
The five recipients in this photograph from left to right are: Henry Thiesen of Rosenort, Ted Friesen of Altona, Myrna Stark of Morris, George Gushuliak of Emerson, and Olly Penner of Altona. They received their medals at the Altona Civic Centre. There were 20 recipients of this medal in all of Manitoba.
