Hutterite Songs

This series contains the author’s research for her dissertation on Hutterite songs and their aural transmissions, as well as her later revisions so that the paper could be published in book format. She recorded and transcribed Hutterite melodies, then traced the origins of those melodies and established connections to both religious and secular music from the medieval period to the sixteenth century. The records consist of notes, photocopies of outside sources, handwritten sheet music, and audio recordings on Reel to Reel Tapes.
