History

Trained as a teacher, Hunsberger was a conscientious objector during the Second World War. He served in Alternative Service at Montreal River (Jul-Nov 1941) and Koksilah (Jun 1942- Oct/Nov 1943). From Oct/Nov 1943 to Feb 1944, he was assigned to teach interned Japanese-Canadian children at a logging camp near Neys, Ontario.
