This photo is of the devastation left by Hurricane Camille in Virginia. In the foreground, debris and stones are left . A house is left standing behind the debris. In the background are trees and beyond that are hills.
The description on the back says, " Where barns and sheds stood, only rocks, tree and mud remained. Two rooms of this house were swept away, one being the bedroom where the owner was sleeping. He miraculously escaped with only a few minor injuries."

This photo is of Mennonite Disaster Service workers in Massies Mill, Virginia, cleaning up after Hurricane Camille. It shows the men salvaging cement blocks. In the background, trees are standing.
The description on the back reads, "A house and service station in Massies Mill, Va. succumbed to the current. MDS men salvage a few of the cement blocks that remained. Massies Mill was one of the harder hit towns. Only two buildings out of 35 - 40 remained undamaged. MDS plans to rebuild a number of buildings in Massies Mill."

Behind the woman is much debris, including the roof of a house. A shed can be seen standing in the background. Trees are also standing behind the debris.
The description on the back says: Marjan Somer, MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) trainee from Holland, was one of the many MDS women who aided in camp cleanup operations in Virginia. It was anew experience for her. "I've never seen anything like it," she said. "It is hard even to imagine this." She is staying with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koop, Virgil. Ont."
