This series contains the Family Life Ministry materials of the Mennonite Board of Congregational Ministries (MBCM) from 1972 to 1990. Key individuals in this organization during this time were Ross Bender, Beulah Kauffman, David Helmuth, Frances Greaser, and Clare Schumm.

The records include a number of topics such as domestic violence and homosexuality, correspondence, seminars, meetings, audio-visual materials, and congregational responses. These are all arranged alphabetically.

This collection includes organizational records from the Welcome Committee, originally an ad hoc committee of the Mennonite Church to reflect on the church's attitude toward homosexuality in the Mennonite Church. The materials include responses to an open letter, published booklets,  correspondence and order records.

Rachel Waltner Goossen Collection on LGBTQ Mennonite Leaders

Oral histories recorded during the course of Goossen's research on the rise of LGBTQ leaders in Mennonite Church USA.  Goossen's research was published in an article entitled, "'Repent of the Sins of Homophobia': The Rise of Queer Mennonite Leaders" (Nova Religio 24:3 (February 2021).  The collection includes nineteen oral history interviews and copies of consent statements signed by interviewees. Other oral interviews conducted for this project were not released for public research (at the request of those who participated with Goossen in the interviews) and remain in Goossen's possession.

The collection consists of subject files on medicine, public health, and peace, as well as working files documenting Krabill's service on the Mennonite Board of Missions Health and Welfare Committee.  The subject files contain a number of papers and articles pertaining to AIDS, homosexuality, and alcohol and drug abuse in the context of the Mennonite Church.  Other less well documented subjects in the collecrtion include Krabill's Civilian Public Service work, mission work in Asia, career as a physician and professor at Goshen College, and his spiritual life.  The collection includes more than 30 audiocassette sound recordings of speeches by Krabill and others on medicine, spirituality, Christianity, and other topics.
