Absalom and Mary Snyder farmhouse

Absalom (1817-1900) and Mary (Bricker) (1823-1891) Snyder at the Snyder homestead at Fisher's Mills south of Kossuth. The home was built in about 1850. Left to right: Catharine Snyder (daughter), Absalom, Mary, a hired man with two horses.
Absalom and Mary Snyder are the grandparents of Martha (Snyder) Bechtel.

Construction of an Indigenous family’s home. Wooden branches and other items are scattered around the yard and under the partially built house. A very small child can be seen sitting in the yard, and an adult appears to be working under the roof. Paraguay. 1963 label: “An Indian home being built in the Indian Resettlement program.”
