W.P. Rempel & Bros. elevator (Minnesota)

This photograph shows an elevator in the state of Minnesota, U.S.A, possibly in Butterfield area. Several horse-drawn wagons are lined up to unload their grain. The elevator is identified with W.P. Rempel & Bro. and belongs to sons of Peter Rempel, Wilhelm and Bernhard. There is a negative #223 in Binder for this photograph.

This photo is of a train stopped at the Altona train station taking gon passengers (Sommerfeld Mennonites) who are moving to Paraguay. On the right are empty tracks, the last car is in the foreground on the left and grain elevators are in the background.

Town of Rosthern

Early photo of Rosthern grain elevators attached to a card with German writing. On photo reverse is written "when were the railway tracks on the east side of elevators in Rosthern?" But according to Rosthern history book Old & New Furrows page 642 this is incorrect - the photo is actually taken looking north and the railway tracks are on the west side of elevators.
Neufeld's mill is on the left.

Three iconic elevators at Osler, Saskatchewan

The 3 iconic elevators are McCabes, Saskatchewan Pool and Pioneer Grain. The CNR railway first established in 1892 runs through Osler. Note the white cattle loading chute and the red coal bins between the Pioneer and Pool elevators.

Saskatchewan Pool Elevator

This photo shows a freshly painted Pool elevator in 1953. The grey colored building contained the single cylinder engine that drove the elevator shovels high into the grain storage bins. The grain car on the siding is loading grain. The ramp was used to ensure wagons and trucks with no cylinder dumps could unload grain.
