Biographical history

Erwin Cornelsen

Erwin Cornelsen was born on May, 28, 1919 in Schweingrube, Stuhm, Prussia. His parents were Franz Benno Cornelsen and Marie Wiehler. Erwin married Hildur Elisabeth Deckert on August 19, 1944 and they had 5 children. They came to Canada in 1956. He is considered the founding leader of the Sherbrooke Mennonite Church in Vancouver. He was pastor of First United Mennonite Church in Vancouver from 1961-1967 He was interim pastor of the Langley Fellowship in1978.
