History

Born in Schoenbrun, South Russia, graduated from the Halbstadt Zentralschule , married Anna Rempel of Tiegenhof (Rempel family estate), served in the Medical corps in Moscow during the First World War, and immigrated to Canada in 1924. After a year in Waterloo, Ontario, he moved to Manitoba, where he bought a farm near Grunthal. He became the leader of the newly organized Elim Church, was ordained to the ministry on 19 June 1927, and ordained as elder (Aeltester) on 10 October 1943.
