This is a portrait of Elizabeth Kroeker that was used for her obituary notice. Under the photo are the Bible verses Romans 8:38,39: "I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor things present, nor things to come, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." The notice reads: In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Kroeker, aged 86 years, beloved wife of the late Abram A. Kroeker of the Donwood Personal Care Home, Winnipeg. Born June 22, 1894. Died February 16, 1981. Funeral Services: Saturday, February 21, 1981 at 10:30 a.m. at the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, 217 Kingsford Avenue, Winnipeg. Clergymen: Rev. Roland Marsch, Rev. Elmer Martens, Rev. Arno Fast. Interment: The Family Plot in the Winkler Cemetery. Arrangements by: Klassen Funeral Chapel Ltd., 1897 Henderson Highway, Winnipeg, Manitoba. On the back, near the bottom of the page, is the Bible verse John 12:24: "Unless a wheat grain falls on the ground and dies, it remains only a single grain; but if it dies, it yields a rich harvest." The front cover shows an illustration of grains of wheat, by Heidi Koop. Her obituary, without a photo, was printed in the MB Herald, April 24, 1981, pp. 30-31.
