Andres family property

This is a photo of the yard of the Andres family in Tiegenhagen. Four generations of the family have lived here. When the Russians occupied the area in 1945, the house was burned down. [HR 12]

Anna Fast's sod house

This photo is of Bernard Dyck and his wife, with [widow?] Anna Fast. The three newly-arrived Mennonite immigrants are standing in front of Fast's home, which they build out of sod in 1951. This is a photo of several run-down buildings on the left and a new home on the right. The new home is the result of combined efforts of several organizations. C. O. A. P., which provides financial counseling and quality low-cost construction, enables poor people in southeastern Kentucky to have adequate shelter. MCC U. This is a photo of large two-story house with a shed on the left. In the fore-ground there is a crude fence and a horse and buggy. This is the first house that Peter Koop painted in Canada. He earned fifteen cents an hour. Same as 676-146.
