  • The Fort Hill was outside the MB Mission station of Deverakonda, India. Was abandoned by the local ruler after independance in 1947
  • The fort dates back to the period between late 13th century and 14th century. Devarakonda fort adorned the then prosperous kingdom established by the Padma Nayaka Veluma Rajas.

Fort hill

This photo is of Fort hill. It is in the distance with trees and grassland in the foreground. [the fort hill is the location where former rulers of the area would build their fortified residences. In the Deverakonda area this fort is near the Mennonite Brethren mission station and is now in ruins. After independence was achieved in 1947, the local "rulers" lost their power because they were aligned with the colonial power. Therefore, all photos of the Fort Hill ruins were then taken after 1947.]
