Biographical history
Helen was born in Hoffnungsfeld, Manitoba (near Winkler, MB) and attended the Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church. She graduated from the Mennonite Collegiate Institute (MCI) in Gretna, Manitoba in 1915 and spent 1 year at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. In December 1919 she was ordained in the Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church and in June 1920 left her first term in India. She returned to Canada in 1927, and left for India in 1929 for her second term. She continued working in India until 1957, her fourth term. She died in Winkler, Manitoba.

This photo is of the Devarakonda mission house in India. The house appears to be at least two stories high, with two covered deck areas on the second floor, and a wide, colonnaded walk way encompassing part of the house on the first floor.
