Biographical history
The son of Bishop Oscar Burkholder; he married Helen (Erb) on December 22, 1943. Burkholder was a conscientious objector during the Second World War. He did Alternative Service at Montreal River (Group 1, July-November 1941) and in British Columbia (June 1942-April 1944).
