This bridge on the Trans Chaco road crosses a stream which is dry most of the time but fills rapidly during heavy rains. James Plummer, a civil engineer, helps with some advisory work. Used in CM 7-18-1 and CM 8-1-8.

One of the first ventures introduced into Paraguay under the MEDA was the establishment of a model dairy farm. Henry Evans is shown holding a good bull which was purchased at Asuncion. Used in CM 8-8-5.

Used in CM 13-37-8. Paxmen shovel dirt in the foreground while several bulldozers work in the background. They are working on the Ruta Trans Chaco in the late 50's. C.f. 1994-14.156-159.

Paraguayan children on their way to their evening meal in Yalwa Sanga, Chaco Boreal, Paraguay. The Yalwa Sanga school was set up by the Fernheim Mennonite Colony in 1959. Used in CM 11-15-10 and CM 11-5-3.

South of Benjamin Aceval - finished road. This is a segment of the Trans-Chaco Road which traverses 250 miles of the Chaco from Asuncion to the Mennonite colonies further inland. Used in CM 6-19-4.

Some areas of the Trans-Chaco roadway follow and old roadbed. The culvert in the foreground was so poor it was bypassed, and a new one is being constructed in the background. Used in CM 5-26-3. Only negative available.
