The Centre for Mennonite Brethren Studies (est. 1969) seeks to collect, preserve, and make accessible textual materials, photos, sound and moving images that document the life of the Canadian Mennonite Brethren Church and its members.
Fonds level descriptions can be found on the CMBS web site http://cmbs.mennonitebrethren.ca/ that also houses digital indices and reproductions of periodical publications. Also on the site are links to PDFs of study papers exploring the life and thought of the Mennonite Brethren Church. CMBS publishes a quarterly magazine together with the Mennonite Heritage Archives at Canadian Mennonite University called the Mennonite Historian. A digital archive of current and back issues is housed at www.mennonitehistorian.ca .
CMBS is open to the public on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (Central Standard Time), closed statutory holidays and Easter Monday.
Centre staff seek to provide good reference services. Please consider a donation to help support our work (use "donate" button at top of http://cmbs.mennonitebrethren.ca).
Photocopier/scanner is open for public use. The charge is 10 cents per image for physical copies. In most cases, the Centre allows digital images to be made of its archival materials.
