Biographical history

C. Warren (Charles Warren) Long was born near Nappanee, Ind. on November 12, 1904 to Jacob Monroe and Jennie (Yoder) Long. He graduated from Goshen College academy in 1923, married Edna Miller in1927, and graduated from Goshen College in 1929. In 1930, he was licensed to be a pastor in the Peoria Mennonite Church (Peoria, Ill.) and was later ordained. He served abroad as a commissioner of relief to Europe in 1947 and 1948.

Long served as pastor of the Willow Springs Mennonite Church in Tiskilwa, Ill. from 1949 until his death in 1969. He was ordained bishop in 1950. Long was active in the Mennonite Church Illinois Conference, the Illinois Mennonite Mission Board, and in the community.
