Born 11 May 1940, Newton, Kansas. Parents Leonard C. Kreider and Rachel Weaver.
Family moved in 1949 to Ohio.
Graduated from Wadsworth, Ohio, High School. Attended Bethel and Bluffton Colleges.
Married James C. Juhnke in 1963.
Ph. D. in English from Indiana University.
Taught English at Bethel College 1966-1996. First woman chair of the Bethel faculty in 1985.
Early 1970s service term in Botswana with Mennonite Central Committee. 1987-88 taught English in Chengdu, China, with China Educational Exchange.
Plenary speaker at 1978 Mennonite World Conference. Served on executive committee of Mennonite Central Committee U. S. beginning in 1980, including 3 years as chair. Twelve years on the general board of General Conference Mennonite Church, including 7 years on the executive committee.
Died 17 June 2005, North Newton, Kansas.
