Bainton [sic--Roland Bainton, Roland H. Bainton], and Henry B. Lucas--treating them as review copies, although Bender was writing and telling them the books were for them to keep; also send one to Cornelius Krahn for review in Mennonite Life; on paying shipping charges. {10} Bender to David Alderfer, May 20, 1958: regarding price of the 200 Zurich Täufer-Akten, Bender had sent a bill to A. J. Metzler [Abram J. Metzler] to use for getting them out of customs; comment on calculating the price.--attached: a message from S. Hirzel Verlag of Zurich, in English, to Mennonite Publishing House, inquiring whether 200 copies had been received.--contiguous, a little note from “D.A.” to A. J. Metzler asking who was to pay. {11} David Alderfer to Bender, July 2, 1952: recommending that Mennonite Publishing House produce 1000 copies in color of a painting of a Bernese Anabaptist family; black-and-white version had been on cover of Mennonite Life; mention Cornelius Krahn; believed the picture would sell at a profitable price at Mennonite World Conference and elsewhere. {12} Bender to David Alderfer, July 2, 1952--cc to Orie O. Miller: for instructions about handling history of MCC [Mennonite Central Committee] at Mennonite World Conference, contact Orie O. J. Metzler [Abram J. Metzler] would help Bender with it; about the billing for them. / Bender had suggested 25 copies of the MCC history, In His Name, but Orie O. Miller and William Snyder suggested 100 which Mennonite Publishing House thought too many; Mennonite Publishing House was sending 35.
