  • Corporate body

JELAM (Junta Ejecutiva Latinoamericana de Audiciones Menonitas) was an inter-Mennonite Latin American organization responsible for Mennonite broadcasting in Latin America and its promotion. JELAM was formed in the early 1970s after consultations among the Mennonite Board of Missions, Mennonite Broadcasts, and Mennonite conferences in Latin America.

JELAM not only took over the Spanish language programming of Mennonite Broadcasts / Mennonite Media developed in Puerto Rico, but also produced its own programming. Its progams included Luz y Veridad (Light and Truth), Corazón a Corazón (Heart to Heart), and De Corazón a Corazón (Heart to Heart Daily). JELAM also produced Spanish language TV and radio spots, published religious tracts and literature, and provided a religious film service to Latin American churches.

JELAM was headquartered in Aibonito, Peurto Rico from 1974 to 1984 and led by Amando Hernandez. A predecessor organization, JAALAM (Junta de Asesores para America Latina a Audiciones Menonitas), was an advisory board under Mennonite Broadcasts from 1969 to the early 1970s.
