File 3 - Abram A.Teichroeb sermons

Abram A. Teichroeb, minister, teacher and farmer, was born on October 20, 1907 in Gnadenthal, South Russia. He was one of two surviving children born to Abram G. and Justina Teichroeb. In 1923, at the age of 15, Teichroeb came with his parents to Canada. They bought a farm in Gnadenthal, Manitoba where they lived until 1935. There was a great religious revival in Gnadenthal and as a result Teichroeb became baptized on May 10, 1931. That same year he married Tina Olfert on September 20th. Over the next five years he attended Winkler Bible School from which he graduated in 1936. Teichroeb began teaching at the Bible school in Gretna in 1939 and then farmed near Myrtle, Manitoba to help support his growing family. He and his wife had 10 children, including three sons and seven daughters. Teichroeb was elected to the ministry in the Blumenort church and ordained on April 22, 1935 by Aeltester J.P. Bueckert. During his years of service to the church, Teichroeb served at Assiniboine Mission Camp between 1949-1964. In 1964 he opened a Bible school in Paraguay where he served two years. Between 1969-1975 he served as leading minister in the Blumenort Mennonite Church. He and his wife retired to Altona. Unfortunately his retirement was marred by ill health. Teichroeb was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's in 1985. Abram A. Teichroeb died on November 13, 1991.
