Biographical history

Karl Stumpp, 1896-1982, was a world renowned authority of German-Russian history. He was often called "The Treasurer of Lost People". While teaching in Russia, he became fascinated in the movements and history of Germans from Russia. He was the chief editor of "Folk auf dem Weg" (1957-1963) and "Heimatbuecher", (1954-1966). His maps give migration routes, village locations of mother colonies and daughter colonies. Included on the maps is detailed information regarding religion, and size of villages, and extinct villages.
