The photo shows an indigenous person standing in front of two primitive houses in Hoffnungsfeld in 1928. The homes are in a treed area and a primitive cart is seen on the right side in the foreground. A hammock is attached to two trees in front of the doorway of one home. The photo shows a Mennonite family of six standing in front of their temporary home in Hoffnungsfeld. One part is a tent-like structure, the other part is constructed out of corrugated metal sheets in a rectangular shape.
