This Huebert family were Mennonite Brethren missionaries to India in the early 1900s, supported by the Mennonite Brethren Church in Russia. They first went to India in 1898. They were in charge of a mission station at Sooriapet where they settled in October 1900. At some point, they left their children in Halbstadt, Molotschna, in the care of minister Heinrich Braun, who also handled the treasury for the Russian MB missionary in India. It is alleged that the son joined the army in 1914 and went missing without a trace. The daughter immigrated to Canada in 1923, and later married Jacob Klahsen. It is not known is the children ever saw their parents again. -- AHR
