Administrative history

Mennonites moved into the Graysville area west of Carman in the 1930s. The spiritual life was nurtured by several conferences and churches including the Bergthaler Gemeinde and the Schönwieser Gemeinde. In 1953 they bought the Orr United Church which they had been renting. In 1960 this building was moved and renovated. The leaders of the congregation were: Franz Letkemann Sr. (1949-1960), ordained by the Schönwieser Mennoniten Gemeinde who continued giving leadership after the congregation decided to affiliate with the Bergthaler Mennonite Church of Manitoba after 1954,
