Administrative history
Mennonite immigrants moved to the area around Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan in the 1920s. Three small rural congregations were founded during the following years, known as the Immanuel Mennonite Church group. In the 1950s it was decided to begin a congregation in the town of Meadow Lake. They completed their own meeting house in 1957 with the assistance and support of the local rural congregations and the conference Mission Board. This church became known as the Grace Mission Mennonite Church (Meadow Lake). The Mission Board continued its financial support until 1974. In 1977 the congregation built a new meeting house.
Grace Mission withdrew from the conferences in 1991 because of issues that included biblical interpretation, homosexuality, native religion and the use of inclusive language in worship. It subsequently became part of the Evangelical Free Church of Canada.
