Composite photo of Mennonite men serving in forestry at Anadol

This photo is a composite with 50 individual oval portraits, in commemoration of the blessed time together in September 1911 at Gross Anadol. In the centre at the top is Abram Klassen, the head administrator at this camp; below him are an Ediger and a Riediger, and below them are two ranking officers, one an H.H. Thiessen (noted by the striped collars).

This photo is a composite with 60 oval portraits of Mennonite men in forestry service at Anodol in 1913. Also included are an additional 5 oval portraits of administrators, and 4 other photos of life at the camp. In the centre at the top is Head Forester (a Russian), below him is David Klassen, forestry president, to his left is Abram Klassen, the man in charge of material and pastoral care at the Anadol camp.

This is a photo of three retired forestry servicemen from Russia. They are (left to right): Jacob Janzen of Virgil, Ontario (Alt Berdjansk- 1914, Krim- 1915-1918); Peter Friesen of Marquette, Manitoba (Asow- 1910-1913); and G.G. Dueck of Springstein, Manitoba (Groß-Anadol- 1913-1917).

Entrance to a forestry camp in Russia

This photograph shows the yard of a forestry camp in Russia with bare trees showing one of the buildings in the background and the low fence and entrance gate in the foreground. A few men of the Alternative Forestry service can be seen on the yard, one with a bicycle. There are at least 3 young girls perched on the fence at the right. This photograph can also be seen in Mennonite Alternative Service in Russia by Lawrence Klippenstein and Jacob Dick, on page 135.

Family visitors at the Forestry Camp in Russia

This photograph shows a group of 5 Forestry Camp workers in their uniforms, and a younger lad at the end, standing in back of a group of 3 women and two younger children, as well as 3 men posed on the ground. It is described as a picnic with visiting family members. The 6th man standing and the man at the far right, seated, are both holding a guitar. This picture also appears on page 61 of Mennonite Alternatove Service in Russia.
