History
Eden Mennonite Church traces its beginnings to 1945 when 32 charter members in Chilliwack, B.C. founded what was first called the Westheimer Mennonite Church. Initially they met in rented facilities. In 1948 they had their own meeting house and were renamed the East Chilliwack Mennonite Church. In 1951 the membership was 147. The building was expanded in 1957. The membership was 228 in 1960. In 1961 they built a larger meeting house and named the congregation the Eden Mennonite Church. In 1977 this building was renovated and expanded. The membership was 328 in 1977. In 1980 with the dissolution of the Chilliwack Mennonite Church, those members were invited to join Eden Mennonite Church. In 1986 the membership was 395 and in 2000 it was 303.
